Weatherization Program Customers and All: WE NEED YOUR HELP!!

This recent article https://orleanshub.com/community-action-faces-urgent…/ describes the urgent situation that may close Weatherization Assistance Programs across New York. We only have a day or two left to urge Governor Hochul to reinstate these funds to this life saving program. You can help!!!!
Today, please call the Governor’s Office: 518-474-8390. Speak to whomever picks up or leave a message. Use this script:
“Hi, I’m ________ and I’m calling to urge Governor Hochul to make sure that the Weatherization Assistance Program is fully funded in the budget this week. This 50 year old energy affordability program provides lifesaving services for New York families that need help the most, lowering their energy bills and making their homes safer and healthier.
Please protect the 10% of HEAP funds that have been annually allocated to WAP. Without this funding, many non-profit agencies across the state will need to begin laying off hundreds of highly skilled workers, and thousands of vulnerable New Yorkers will lose access to the program. NYers need the Weatherization Assistance Program to be FULLY FUNDED in the budget. Thank you!”
