#Community Action Works! We have a testimony of that from one of our employees right here in our agency. “Sara” started with us three years ago with the Work Release program from the Albion Correctional Facility. She started by doing miscellaneous jobs around the agency, but within time she was given a position within a department.
As she was getting close to the end of her prison sentence, she knew that she wanted to relocate to Albion from Northern New York to start a new life, and live her life for her. She interviewed for a permanent position at Community Action, and accepted the position. With the help of Community Action, she was able to obtain her own apartment and was able to become self-sufficient.
After walking to work for two years, she was able to save enough money to buy her own vehicle. She volunteers at almost every event that Community Action holds from the Children’s Carnival to the Golf Tournament. Because of Community Action’s willingness to offer “second chances”, she was afforded a fresh start in life. She says she is now the happiest that she has ever been. We are so lucky to have her as a part of our team!
“You can’t go back and make a new beginning, but anyone can start today on making a new ending.”
