Community Action will provide outreach services promoting the benefits of the Food Stamp Outreach Program to Genesee and Orleans County residents and attempt to remove the ‘hassle’ from the application process. Our staff will emphasize the benefits of Food Stamps and how Food Stamps can be used to supplement a household’s income. Outreach and application assistance will be at places where families gather, including community events, fairs, malls, senior events, etc. Written literature will be supplemented with newspaper ads, local radio presentations, and other media outlets. Community Action staff will assist applicants with their application in ways that are most comfortable for the consumer, including on-line applications when that option is available in the district.
