Flu season is quickly approaching and the best way to protect yourself, your family and the
families you work with is to get a flu shot each year. It is recommended
that everyone 6 months and older should get the vaccine.
Flu vaccine is available during regularly scheduled Immunization Clinics from 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. on 10/18; 11/1; 11/15; 12/6; 12/13;
01/10/12; and 01/17. Go to www.orleansny.com/publichealth
and click Immunization Clinics in the Links section on the right. No
appointments are necessary during the scheduled clinic times.
The Health Department also offers Tuesday walk-in clinics from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. on
non-immunization clinic days and include the following days: 10/25;
11/22; 11/29; 12/20; 12/27; 01/03/12; 01/24; and 01/31. No appointments
are necessary during the scheduled clinic times.
Without insurance the costs are: Adult flu is $35.00, High Dose Flu (limited availability)
$50.00 and Pneumonia is $71.00. Please bring ALL insurance cards.
Some co-pays may apply. Free flu vaccine for children is provided
through the Vaccine for Children Program. The Health Department accepts
the following insurance: Medicare Part B (bring both cards), MVP Health
Care, Excellus, Independent Health, Today’s Option, WellCare, Universal Health
Care and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Western New York.
